Immerse yourself in the culture and heritage of Indian block printing in the "Creative Quarter" of The Custard Factory Birmingham

We are collaborating with Albert Works Digbeth to bring you this unique experience of learning this heritage art form of Indian block printing in 'Birmingham's boldest food hall' set within part of the iconic Custard Factory. in the heart of Birmingham's vibrant creative & cultural hub. 

Why not have a bite to eat and then continue to enjoy the vibe as you learn how to make beautiful designs on fabric.

At the workshop you will learn about this heritage textile art form, be guided and shown block printing techniques. Explore colours designs and patterns, as you create your own stunning and unique prints on fabric, using beautifully hand-carved wooden printing blocks.

You will be able to print up to three items including Tea towels Aprons Napkins Table runners Tote bags Cushion covers Make-up bags Draw string bags* (*subject to availability)

No previous experience needed Come and connect with other like minded people We aim to celebrate creativity, connection, and mindfulness in a relaxed atmosphere

At the workshop

We will demonstrate the art of block printing. - You will be able to practice the techniques and once confident with the process -  you'll choose blocks and colours to create your own beautiful patterns, be inspired and share ideas with others and produce beautiful unique designs 

All materials used are included in the price. Please bring an apron or wear clothing you don't mind getting a spot or two of paint on!
